Welcoming 25 Children from the Malindi Sect

A Tragic Discovery

Recently, Blessed Generation welcomed 25 children rescued from the devastating events in Shakahola Forest. The world watched in shock as police and military forces uncovered over 400 deaths in a religious cult, where victims—many of them children—were starved and mistreated under the belief that it would bring them closer to Jesus.

A Safe Haven for Survivors

The surviving children have been placed under the care of Blessed Generation Malindi by child protection services. While we are grateful for the trust placed in us, the pain and trauma these children have endured are unimaginable. Many have lost family members, some of whom remain hospitalized due to severe dehydration, while others have passed away. The children express a range of emotions—from confusion to relief that it is over, and deep sorrow for their loved ones.

The Road to Healing

We are committed to supporting these children for at least three years, ensuring they receive the care they need while assessing whether reunification with their families is safe and possible. Since education was forbidden in the cult, many of them are now trying to reintegrate into school. Our priority is to provide them with food, security, and emotional support as they rebuild their lives. However, this comes with significant financial challenges.
